Deadline Information
Protocols must be received by the IACUC Office, 300 George Street, 6th Floor, no later than 4:30 p.m. on the deadline day to ensure their review at the next scheduled Committee meeting. Any protocol received later than the deadline day may be held until the next month's meeting.
Submission Information
The application must be submitted to the IACUC Office in order for a protocol to be included on the agenda. Applications can be submitted via fax, electronically or mailed.
Timing Issues
The IACUC meets on the third Wednesday of the month, January through October. The November & December meetings will be the second Wednesday. Investigators should consider that additional time might be needed to clarify specific issues before their protocol is approved. It is important to keep these possible delays in mind when estimating protocol approval dates.
Notification
Investigators will be notified via email of any questions or clarifications regarding their submitted protocols within 10 working days of the meeting. If an application is approved, investigators will receive a copy with the dates for which the approval is valid. Research cannot begin, nor can any animals be ordered, until the protocol has been approved by the IACUC.
3 Year Renewals
Submission of three-year renewal application later than the required deadline could jeopardize approval of the protocol. No animals may be used or ordered under protocols that have expired.
The IACUC office will not be responsible for interoffice mail not delivered by deadline. To ensure receipt please hand deliver.
